The needs of high-end footwear designers are increasingly pushing production towards complex and difficult-to-produce products.
With the FNC, Comas has created a simple and powerful tool capable of satisfying these requests.
The FNC is a numerically controlled sole milling machine; the most important innovation that this machine introduces is
the elimination of the reference template from the milling process.
This benefit allows for immediate savings in material and time; in addition, it allows for the milling of profiles that have never been processed before.
In traditional milling processes, the diameter of the copying ring and the bending of the template in the most delicate points of the shape (heel, toe) were a problem
that often limited the geometry of the shapes; in numerically controlled milling, soles with very thin tips or very long tails can be easily created.
The FNC can work both manually and automatically. In both cases, the piece centering is managed by the numerical control, the machine does not need adjustments, all positioning data is created by the Cad.
When the machine works manually, the user loads and collects the sole after processing.
In the case of an automatic cycle, the soles are deposited by the operator in a 4-station loader and taken to the processing site by a suction cup axis.
The loading group joins the soles in one or two pairs chosen by the user, there is also a thickness measuring device that checks the correct coupling, stopping the machine in any malfunction situations.
The soles are deposited between two pressers (generally made of wood by the machine itself) which, tightened by means of a piston, support the pieces being processed.
The automatic collector divides the soles by direction, facilitating unloading operations.
In the FNC all the milling, centering and tool administration data are completely parametric.
This confirms an innovative, technologically advanced, flexible and modular system.
The electrospindles are far more powerful and faster than traditional machines, the standard machine is
equipped with fixed shaft spindles that reach up to 15,000 rpm with powers of 5kW.
Upon request, it is possible to mount spindles with extractable pneumatic cone, this solution allows milling with tools up to 20mm in diameter.
The high precision mechanics and transmissions combined with latest generation brushless motors communicating on digital bus allow to reach superior level of processing speeds.
The human machine interface is very intuitive, designed to work on a 15″ touch screen, it has clear and easy to interpret commands.
